Wednesday, December 21: Solving the Rat Problem
I guess one of the downsides of living in a canyon (besides the insanely cold winter nights) is the occasional rat or two. Gross, I know. So the boyfriend and his roommate (housemate?) decided that a cat would be the solution.
Both having the day off work, we stopped by Freebirds World Burrito on the way to the animal shelter for some lunch.

I got their hybird (extra small) burrito with spanish rice, poblano salsa, steak and carnitas, corn salsa, roasted peppers, lime juice, and a ton of other stuff I can’t remember wrapped up in a wheat burrito skin (shut up). It was delicious.
So after lunch, we went to the animal shelter, and of course this is pretty standard:

(and dogs!)

This little guy was my favorite. I spent a lot of time playing with him, but the boyfriend wasn’t looking for a kitten that young (no one is home long enough to take care of one), so that was that. Sadly, I watched as another couple adopted him right in front of my face.
But! We did find a cat: an 8 month old black cat… and he’s coming home tomorrow! Yay!
